This makes musky very used to seeing spinner baits and makes them less likely to react to one as it passes by the strike zone. That is why more musky fisherman have been using crank baits as a main weapon in their arsenal.
Each crank bait is designed with a specific purpose in mind. Musky crank baits with a large front plastic lip are designed to be used in heavy cover, the large lip helps it bounce off of large debree that may be in the water. A hollow plastic lure tends to be much louder under water than a solid wood crank, each has their benefits, and it all depends on the mood of the musky.
